The Feuerstein Institute, with it's international centre in Jerusalem , reaches out around the world, helping schools, universities, business and governments to function at much higher levels through the intergration of Professor Reuven Feuerstein's developed theories and applied systems withing the respective environments.

The Feuerstein Institute is now working in three South African Communities in both schools and vocational programmes, successfully preparing young adults for the workforce, and helping to reduce the South African unemployment rate. Participants have demonstrated a marked improvement in their skills as measured by standardised tests.

A bit about Professor Reuven Feuerstein

Over 40 years of research led Professor Reuven Feuerstein to the   development and implementation of an innovative theory, which he calls "Structural Cognitive Modifiability". It propounds that intelligence, far from being a fixed attribute, can be developed and modified. Intelligence lies in the ability to learn.

Founded in 1993, the Feuerstein Institute is the culmination of Professor Reuven Feuerstein's pioneering work, which he began more than 50 years ago. The institute was born from the professor's belief (that research confirmed decades later), that the brain has the ability to change and therefore intelligence is not fixed. Also, IQ and other static achievement tests are not an accurate measure of a person's true achievement potential. From this idea, the Feuerstein ground breaking theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability (CM) and Mediated Learning experience (MLE) was created.
